Doja Cat Talks About Feeling ‘Pressured’ In The Music Industry

“Say So” hitmaker Doja Cat opened up about feeling “pressured” to do certain things now that she’s become a bigger name in the music industry.

In an Instagram Live video, she said that she misses making music for fun and doing other things she really loves.

“[Making] music like, willy-nilly, just [having] fun, and just [jamming]–I haven’t done that in maybe five years, it feels like.”

The Grammy Award-nominated rapper also said that even though she loves fashion, she’d rather be doing many other things than go to a photoshoot.

“I don’t want to take pictures. Like, yes, planning a photoshoot is very fun. Capturing a concept, capturing a visual idea, something like that… I love fashion. I really do. I love to dress up. [But] do I want to do that because I have to? No! No, I don’t! But I feel pressured to do s*** like that,” she said.

“I don’t want to do that. I want to be home. I wanna make music. I wanna play video games. I wanna be doing this… like, complaining on Live.”

The 26-year-old rapper recently received multiple Grammy Award nominations in the categories “Record of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” Best Pop Duo/Group Performance,” “Best Pop Vocal Album,” “Best Melodic Rap Performance,” and “Best Rap Song.”

Additionally, Rogét Chahayed, who co-produced Doja Cat’s songs “Ain’t S***” and “Kiss Me More,” also got nominated for the “Producer of the Year, Non-Classical” award.
