Netflix has unveiled their new lowered rates for PH subscribers with the help of Filipino girl group SexBomb Girls.
On February 20, Netflix uploaded a teaser of what seemed to be the Philippines’ girl group, SexBomb Girls. The video, which hinted at a reunion of the popular girl group, quickly went viral.
This sparked online discussions as fans assumed the performers would make a comeback. Other netizens even had the theory that Netflix plans to revive or air “Daisy Siete.” The show is a GMA Network drama anthology series that ran for around seven years. It featured the SexBomb Girls, who were more known as “Eat Bulaga” dancers, playing different characters.
In 2019, there had been clamor on social media to have the show on the platform. It was after a netizen did a fan art of what seemed to be the interface of Netflix with “Daisy Siete” as its featured program.

Apparently, the SexBomb teaser video was meant to help Netflix make its surprise announcement on the lowered subscription rates.
Sexbomb Girls Rochelle Pangilinan, Sunshine Garcia, Jopay Paguia, Mia Pangyarihan, Johlan Veluz, and Che-che Tolentino headlined Netflix’s video.
The announcement featured SexBomb Girls dancing to the tune of their hit dance song, “Spaghetti.” The lyrics were changed to detail the lowered subscription rates of Netflix.
The girls danced to different characters of Netflix shows. Pangilinan even wore a costume of the popular doll from the Korean series “Squid Game.”
Netflix announced that users would now pay P249 down from P369. Those who subscribe to the Standard plan will pay P399 per month, a decrease from the previous P459 per month plan fee.
To add, the company kept the P149 monthly subscription charge for mobile plans and the P549 rate for premium plan holders.
