Janella Salvador took it to another level by getting a new pet snake to prepare for the role of “Valentina”–talk about dedication!
The 23-year-old actress, who will be playing the Serpent Queen in “Darna: The TV Series,” introduced her new pet snake through a series of photos on Instagram: “Hello, world. Meet Versace, my 5-month-old baby girl. ðŸ”
Janella’s boyfriend, Markus Paterson, revealed that he wanted to have a pet snake at home even before Janella landed the role of Valentina. However, the new mom was against this at first because of worries that it might hurt their one-year-old baby, Jude Trevor.
“Matagal na akong may admiration for reptiles. I’ve always wanted a tortoise or a snake. I wanted to buy a snake for the house,” Markus said in an episode of “Kapamilya Chat.”
“Pero sobrang kontra siya. [She said,] ‘No, we can’t have a snake in the house with the baby. What if it gets out? What if it escapes?’ I was like, ‘Sige, good point. Alagaan natin [ang] anak natin.’”
“But now, as soon as she heard that sa kanya na ‘yung role [na] Valentina, she came to me and said, ‘Alam mo love, I think I want to buy a snake,’” he continued.
“So meron na kaming snake, her name is Versace. She’s so beautiful. Actually, nandoon pa rin siya ngayon sa taping ng ‘Darna,’ kasama niya ngayon. Tuwang-tuwa siya doon; she loves her, honestly. I knew she would but she was just scared.”
It was announced that Janella will be playing the iconic Valentina role during a live-streamed video from ABS-CBN on November 19, 2021. Aside from Janella, Jane De Leon, Joshua Garcia, Zaijan Jaranilla, Rio Locsin, Kiko Estrada, and Iza Calzado will also appear in the series.
