South Korean actor Song Joong-ki and British star Katy Louise Saunders have entered the monumental part of parenthood as they welcomed their first-born.

High Zium Studio, the actor’s agency, was first to release the image—a black-and-white snapshot of the baby’s hand curled around a finger.

Song Joong-ki has also uploaded the photograph with a note that reads, “Today, I came here to greet you because I have one more piece of news that feels like a dream, and I wanted to be the first to tell you. Right now, I’m in Italy. Here, in my wife’s hometown of Rome, we happened to welcome our baby.”

“It’s a healthy son… and both the baby and his mother are in very good health. As we welcomed our child in good health and joy, I am taking care of my family very happily, with a grateful heart,” he adds.

With a heartfelt gratitude extended to Ki Aile, his fanbase, he left a promise of returning “to greet you with a cool project.”
