McDonald’s Green and Good sustainable branch now open in Shaw

McDonald’s newest branch is the fast food company’s most sustainable one yet. The Green & Good store is the first in the country and it’s certainly paving the way for more sustainable branches.

With its own charging station for e-bikes, a bike and dine zone, and a green wall that acts as a natural air filter, McDonald’s Green & Good is one of its kind. The materials used for the store are eco-friendly as well: reused hardwood for its exterior finishes, solar lampposts that produce its own power, and walkways and walls made with ecopavers and ecobricks.

The Green & Good store is part of McDonald’s initiative to find sustainable solutions in the way they do business. The fast food chain has actually pledged to use renewable and recyclable materials by 2025, and even promised to make its Happy Meal toys more sustainable.

The Green & Good store is certainly a step in the right direction.
