Arjo Atayde and his family went to Maine Mendoza’s Bulacan residence for the traditional pamamanhikan
The families of Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza have formally met for the pamamanhikan.
The pre-wedding traditional get-together took place at the Mendoza home in Bulacan on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
After being engaged for almost a year, the actor-politician asked for fiancé Maine’s hand in marriage through pamamanhikan.
Actress Sylvia Sanchez, the mother of the Quezon City 1st District Representative, shared two Instagram video posts wherein she showed how they traveled to the Mendoza family home.
In the first video, it was shown that the Atayde family rode on a helicopter and Sylvia wrote in the caption that they were “Off to a very important destination.”
In the second video, the Atayde family rode a vehicle to the Mendoza house. Sylvia captioned this as “The very important destination.” The video showed them entering a street with a row of SUVs parked in front of the house of the TV host-actress.
Sylvia said that the owners of the SUVs parked outside “Casa Mendoza” were the Ataydes. She could be heard saying in the video, “Andito lahat ng kotse ng Atayde.”
Sylvia waved to her future daughter-in-law whom she called “Menggay” as soon as they arrived in front of Maine’s gated house.
Maine greeted Sylvia with a big smile and a finger heart while Sylvia said, “Nakarating na rin kami dito sa wakas.”

Maine and Arjo got engaged on July 29, 2022, after more than three years of being a couple. The two celebrities started dating in December 2018 when they co-starred in the movie “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles.” In January 2019, Arjo revealed that he and Maine were exclusively dating.
Sources indicate that the Maine and Arjo will get married in a Northern Luzon destination by the last part of July 2023.
