Claudine Barretto is back on GMA-7 after 12 years
Claudine Barretto is set to return to television this year.
She is part of the upcoming teleserye co-produced by GMA-7 and Regal Entertainment titled “Lovers & Liars.”
Claudine shared the good news to her fans on Instagram yesterday, October 18, with a picture of her being interviewed by “24 Oras.”
She wrote on her post (published as is), LOVERS & LIARS finally my Claudinians/Palanggas my Teleserye that we all have been waiting for. thank u so much to GMA,REGAL & @arnold_vegafria @alvtalents.”
Claudine also posted a sample title card of “Lovers & Liars.” She said in the caption, “Stay Tuned for this mga Palanggas and Claudinians. COMING SOON”
Some of Claudine’s celebrity friends sent their congratulatory messages and shared how they are excited about her teleserye comeback after seven years.
Some of them are Anne Curtis, Gladys Reyes, Rita Daniela, Beverly Vergel, Almira Muhlach, Janelle Jamer, Bunny Paras, and Sunshine Cruz.
Claudine’s co-stars in the series are Sparkle artists Lianne Valentin, Yasser Marta, Kimson Tan, and “Magandang Dilag” star Rob Gomez. It was conceptualized for television by veteran screenwriter and director Jose Javier Reyes.
It was first reported that Mikee Quintos will be part of the cast, but is no longer included.
Claudine Barretto’s teleserye journey
Claudine’s last teleserye was the 2016 primetime series “Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap,” a co-production of VIVA Television and TV5.
“Lovers & Liars” also marks Claudine’s comeback to GMA-7 after 12 years. Her last Kapuso teleserye was the 2011 short-lived series “Iglot,” which was reported to be cut short after Claudine had personal problems during the show’s run.
Claudine was originally a talent of ABS-CBN where she was dubbed the “Optimum Star.” She headlined several top-rating Kapamilya teleseryes such as “Mula Sa Puso” (1997), “Saan Ka Man Naroroon,” (1999), “Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan” (2001), and “Marina” (2004).
More recently, Claudine headlined episodes of GMA-7’s drama anthologies “Tadhana” and “Wish Ko Lang.”
