Warner Bros. recently announced that an upcoming TV series for the franchise on HBO Max is coming. Yet, details are still being determined for both the series and “Conjuring 4.”

“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” was the previous entry in the franchise. It was released in 2021 and marked the first film not directed by James Wan, who directed the first two films. Although there is no information yet who’ll lead “Last Rites,” David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will be writing the screenplay.

“The Conjuring” franchise has produced three mainline films, three “Annabelle” spin-offs, “The Nun” spin-off, and “The Curse of La Llorona.” All movies feature connections to the main series. A sequel to “The Nun” is currently in production.

Whether the TV series will replace the films or feature connections to the franchise is still unknown. The TV series may introduce new actors to take on the roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga currently play the parts.

The franchise, which focuses on the paranormal investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren, shows no signs of slowing down. With “Last Rites” and the TV series on the way, fans can expect plenty more supernatural stories to come.
