Basketball player Kobe Paras has reshared Kyline Alcantara’s portraits on his Instagram story—seemingly confirming a budding romance initially speculated two weeks ago.
Kobe’s story, uploaded on Thursday, May 30, 2024, bears a heart emoji attached to Kyline who poses with her hand half-covering her face.
The 26-year-old basketball player has also left a heart-eyed emoji in the comment section of Kyline’s photos captioned, “Good morning.” However, Kyline hasn’t responded to the gesture as of this writing.
Kyline and Kobe initially sparked dating rumors on May 19, 2024 following a similar photo of a restaurant in Makati they uploaded almost at the same time on Instagram.
No direct confirmation yet has been made from the rumored couple—only hints on social media that they might be heading towards something romantic.
Regardless of the case, the netizens have been in anticipation of what’s to come—particularly now that Kyline is seemingly back in the dating scene after his parting with ex-beau Mavy Legaspi.
One netizen comments, “Minyday na wala na may nag wagi na,” while another IG user writes, “HOY INISTORY TO NI KOBE!!!!”
One user also quips, “Talaga naman love, wag mo masiyado gandahan, napapa comment si kobe e,” while another user tags Kobe in the comment section to say, “Wag mo sasaktan kai namin ah.”
Kyline Alcantara’s past relationship before Kobe Paras
Kyline and Mavy used to be an item well-received by their fans who call them together as MavLine. However, their ties were severed after Kyline unfollowed Mavy’s twin sister Cassy on Instagram in August 2023.
While Kyline has shared no reason to go with this indifference, a seeming feud started to bubble up between her and Mavy’s family. Mavy’s mother, for one, was speculated to have taken a swipe at Kyline through a series of cryptic tweets she posted in November 2023.
Addressing her kids, Carmina shares, “People can destroy your image, damage your personality, create rumors about you but they can never take away your good deeds.
“Because no matter how they describe you, you will always be admired by those who know you best.”
Kyline, for her part, seemed to have responded rather cryptically through a tweet that reads, “I knew it.” Days after, she posted another tweet that says, “I was taught that keeping quiet kept the peace. Until I realized, [whose] peace is it keeping.”
In May 2024, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that Kyline booted Mavy, Carmina, and Zoren Legaspi out of her Instagram following list—raising more questions about what really transpired between her and the Legaspis.
