Drag Queen Turing Banners GCash’s Pride Month Feature Film

GCash celebrates Pride with a compelling story of a drag queen and a breadwinner.

Drag Race Philippines Season 1 alumna Turing Quinto takes front and center of GCash’s newest short film—a three-minute examination of the struggles and persistence of LGBTQIA+ members for and beyond Pride month.

The Antoinette Jadaone-helmed feature “Turing” is part of GCash’s “Werk With Pride” advocacy. It takes a closer look at Turing’s aspirations  as she simultaneously juggles herself as the breadwinner of her family. More so, it brings forth conversations about GCash’s role in upholding “inclusivity and financial empowerment” for all walks of life.

Turing takes pride in doing the film as “it really showed how GCash was there during some of [her] most challenging times.”

“Especially nung lockdown kasi virtual shows lang ang nagagawa naming drag performers kasi sarado lahat ng bars and clubs, ang laking tulong ng GCash para makatanggap kami ng tips in real time, and I got to continue doing what I love the most,” she shares.

The short film premiered during the e-wallet’s GTalks: Werk With Pride event on June 22. On top of the feature release, it also held a panel discussion with LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs, such as Gabby Cantero, Hilder Demeterio, Jayso So, Chippy Day Abando, and Nariese Giangan.

Turing’s inspiring story of strength and persistence is available on YouTube.
