Iya Villania Admits Getting Sensitive Over Drew Arellano’s Comment On Her Cooking

“Iniyak ko na lang siya,” Iya Villania admits

Iya Villania admits that when she was just starting to cook, her husband Drew Arellano would question or meddle with her cooking.

“Like a lot of things like… kasi masyado siyang confident sa kusina, so, marami siyang kinuwkestiyonfrom apoy ko, sa mantika ko, sa init ng mantika ko, to the procedure,” Iya tells FreebieMNL and two other reporters at the Eden Almusalo-salo event on June 2 at TriNoma Activity Center.

According to Iya, it was only when she became a mom that she really learned to cook.

“Actually, talagang nagkataon na it was when I became a mom that I gained more confidence in the kitchen, and because I’ve been in the kitchen, I’ve been experimenting, I’ve been trying out new things na pati si Drew, napa-proud na rin sa akin.

Kasi dati, kinukwestiyon niya yung mga ginagawa ko, e! Ngayon, na-a-appreciate niya.

There was even a moment when Drew admitted Iya’s cooking did not taste good. Unfortunately, it wasn’t such good timing as Iya cried because of Drew’s comments!

She recalls, “I think buntis pa ako noon kaya sobra akong sensitive! So, iniyak ko na lang siya tapos after that, he learned to be more sensitive.

Lalo na because when I try something, that’s only one way to gain confidence in the kitchen, that’s when you’re encouraging.

“So, after that, he learned to be careful with the things that he would say especially because I was pregnant and I was sensitive, and of course, may hormonal imbalance doon. Ang saya!

Mom of four

Currently, Iya enjoys her life as the showbiz anchor of “24 Oras” and, of course, a mom of four to her children: Primo, Leon, Alana, and newborn Astro.

She says about bearing children, “It‘s really such a joy and if only I can keep on having babies, I would! Kaso ang mahal; mahal siya.”

Iya is one of those moms who remains to be “fitness goals” despite having four kids. In fact, she was working out even when she was pregnant.

But Iya admits that she has to work hard for her figure to go back into shape.

“It takes extra effort on my end especially when there are certain areas that I need to work on, like. kunyari my core, I really have to work on closing my diastasis recti.

Yung likod ko na natamaan because of the pregnancies, it’s hard, it’s work. I’m not one of those girls na hindi kailangang maghirap ‘tapos ang sexy na agad.”
