Cristine Reyes surprised that Empoy Marquez is actually “prim and proper!”
Cristine Reyes and Empoy Marquez are paired for the first time in VIVA Films’ comedy-action movie, “Kidnap for Romance.”
The movie, which is now showing in cinemas, allowed Empoy and Cristine to get to know each other more, despite being friends for more than 10 years now.
If there is one discovery that Empoy has about Cristine, it’s her comedic side. He revealed this during a recent media conference for their film.
Empoy says, “Kapag walang take, si AA (Cristine), sobrang kulit niyan, gusto niya, TikTok TikTok!”
Cristine then downplays Empoy’s revelation and says that it was their co-star, TJ Valderrama, who enjoys doing TikTok videos.
Empoy continues about Cristine, “Pero sobrang game siya!
“Lahat doon, mga komedyante mga kasama namin doon pero yung mga komedyante na yun, kay AA natatawa. Nakakatawa siya sa totoong buhay.”
Cristine, on the other hand, admits she was “nagulat” with her discovery about Empoy.
She says, “Napaka-prim and proper sa set! Minsan, seryoso yan sa set. Hindi yan nagpapatawa. Seryoso yan, kagalang-galang.”

Another highlight that Cristine can share about being on the set of their film was about a swimming pool scene with Empoy.
Cristine shares, “Siguro, medyo highlight sa akin yung sa swimming pool. 3AM na kasi yun ‘tapos nagtutulakan kami kung sino yung mauuna.
“E, sa script, siya talaga yung mauuna, e. Tinulak ko siya nang malakas!“
Laughing, Empoy says, “Buti, meron na akong langis sa likod bago niya ako itulak! Siyempre, nakakapulmonya.”
This is the first time Empoy and Cristine are working again after almost 15 years.
The last time they worked together was in the ABS-CBN primetime series “Kahit Isang Saglit,” where Empoy played Jericho Rosales’ sidekick while Cristine played the third wheel to Jericho and Carmen Soo.
“Kidnap for Romance” is directed by Victor Villanueva.
