Kaye says: “Wala nga ako driver, bodyguards pa kaya?”
Kaye Abad has offered her piece regarding the viral video of her heavily guarded grocery run with her kids.

The 41-year-old celebrity has sent TikTok abuzz after she was spotted at a local grocery store in Cebu.
While there was nothing unusual about celebrities being guarded in public spaces, many could not help but point out Kaye’s handful of security around her.
As her six bodyguards drew multiple reactions from the net, Kaye then took her explanation to Instagram.
According to her, “I’m always alone when I do my groceries. Or sometimes kasama ko ang kids. Pero walang bodyguards.”
In an interview with DJ Jhai Ho for Radyo 630 on Sunday, September 10, she clarifies that the bodyguards were part of her collaboration with the grocery store.
She says, “Nakakaloka! Actually, in-explain ko na yan sa… I did not know that it was going viral, until my friends sent me photos.
“I explained it on my social media na I did a collaboration with this supermarket. And then, nagpadala sila ng bodyguard.
Kaye says that she even insisted on not having bodyguards around since the Cebuanos are used to seeing her in public.
However, the bodyguards were persistent in escorting her as mandated by the store management, and so, she claims, “Hindi po sa akin yung bodyguards na yun, sa supermarket po.”
She even adds, “Sabi ko nga, wala nga ako driver, bodyguards pa kaya?”
Kaye Abad just finished shooting her upcoming film
In the same interview with DJ Jhai Ho, Kaye disclosed that they have already finished the taping of her upcoming film.
Kaye will banner the film together with other “Tabing Ilog” original cast members Patrick Garcia and Paolo Contis.
She discloses that the film is already in its post-production editing phase and teases that it might come out by the end of the year.
“We’re done shooting for the film. I think kakatapos lang nilang mag-edit, so, I am excited to see the rough edited version. Hopefully, end of this year [ipapalabas], but I am not sure,” she says.

There were no adequate details about the movie as of writing, except that Kaye will play as Paolo’s wife and Patrick will play as a celebrity.
Kaye is currently residing in Cebu—her husband Paul Jake Castillo’s hometown. They have two kids, Joaquin and Iñigo.
