Kim on Maja’s wedding: “Sobrang happy ko para sa kanya”
“It’s Showtime” host Kim Chiu reveals that she did not receive an invitation to Maja Salvador and Rambo Nuñez’s wedding in Bali, Indonesia on July 31, 2023.
The 33-year-old actress has recently uploaded a YouTube vlog titled “Cooking Tortang Talong with Q&A” on Sunday, September 24.

In the 24-minute vlog, Kim entertained some questions from the netizens, including her non-attendance to Maja’s special day.
“Bakit po wala kayo sa kasal ni Ate Maja?” the question reads, to which Kim responds: “Wala. Hindi naman kami sobrang close na ni Maja. And hindi na rin kami masyadong nag-uusap.
“And siyempre, kapag kasal mo, gusto mo yung mga taong gusto mo lang… gusto mong nandidiyan to witness your love sa partner mo.
Kim even emphasizes, ”Hindi ako naimbitahan,” but then claims, “Okay lang, wala talaga.”
Despite Maja’s discretion not to invite Kim at her wedding, the latter says they are still in touch with each other.
In fact, Kim sent her wedding well-wishes just as Maja sent her prayers when Kim’s sister, Lakam, was hospitalized in April due to undisclosed reasons.
She shares, “Sobrang happy ko para sa kanya and minessage ko naman siya. And na-touch din ako nung minessage niya ako dahil dun sa nangyari sa ate ko.
“Sabi niya, pinagpi-pray daw niya yung ate ko and sana daw, okay lang ako. And nakausap ko siya nung may nangyari sa ate ko,” she adds.

Kim says it does not matter whether she’s invited or not—as long as she’s happy for her friend. She adds that all things considered, Maja deserves to be happy with Rambo.
“Hindi naman na siguro magma-matter kung present o hindi as long as happy ako na nahanap na niya yung forever niya. And yun si Rambo. Kaya congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Nuñez.”
Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador’s history with Gerald Anderson
It has been public knowledge that Kim and Maja’s cordial relationship was tarnished by the latter’s affair with actor Gerald Anderson.
Kim and Gerald were both “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition” graduates. Their chemistry inside the PBB house had then developed into a serious relationship even after the reality show ended.
Three years after calling it quits in 2010, Maja was reported to have been dating Gerald—at the time when both Maja and Kim were headlining ABS-CBN’s “Ina, Kapatid, Anak.”
Some reports have it that Kim and Maja managed to salvage their friendship in 2014; however, as hinted by Kim, it was not as tightly knitted as before.
