Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste has finally set the record straight as he confirms his ongoing romance with celebrity-host Kris Aquino in an interview with ABS-CBN TeleRadyo on Friday, June 16.
Despite Mark’s hectic duties as a father and a politician, he still has room for romance—this, he says rather unabashedly during an exchange with TeleRadyo reporter Lyza Aquino.
“A Happy Governor makes a happy province, oh ‘di ba? Kailangan meron tayong pinaghuhugutan ng inspirasyon at ligaya,” Mark says in a seeming confirmation of his thriving love life.
When asked if his heart is happy, he even humored it with, “Hindi lang happy, full of love, love, love,” hinting at one of Kris Aquino’s famous lines.
From romance, the conversation then segues into Kris’ current health condition. According to Mark: “Kris is currently resting right now, She’s on immunosuppressant medicines, which is chemotherapy medication but in a much smaller dose compared to cancer patients.”
“Honestly, it’s challenging and difficult but, of course, your thoughts, prayers, and love from those who follow her a lot. Alam ko napakaraming nagmamahal at sumusubaybay sa ating queen. I know she can heal and get well at the soonest possible time,” he adds.
Kris Aquino says Mark Leviste’s announcement was unconsented
Kris seemed to have taken Mark’s discretion rather negatively, as she publicized via Instagram on Monday, June 19, her sentiment about the announcement.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Kris has echoed some words for her “peace of mind.” Speaking of facts, she says that the revelation came “without my knowledge of consent.”
“Someone spoke about what’s supposed to be his ‘taking care of me in LA’ plus ‘our happy and full of love relationship’ – yet just like any new relationship many couples will easily identify, we are still adjusting to each other’s already set habits and ways,” she adds.
Contrary to Mark’s account of having “full of love” in the relationship, Kris says that “recently there have been unavoidable conflicts. ” She continues: “I don’t believe in presenting a happy picture when that’s not quite our current reality.”
Kris finishes the post hoping they can still work through their differences. However, she also mentions the foreboding “lack of wisdom” in going into a relationship while still trying to recover from her illness.
Kris and Mark’s romance timeline
Their romance first caught the public eye in February 2023 following Mark’s sweet Valentine’s Day message for Kris on Instagram. However, Kris was quick to douse the fire as he only referred to Mark as her “male best friend.”
Speculations emerged yet again on May 18 of the same year, as Kris thanked a certain “Marc” on Instagram for keeping their relationship below the public radar. The fire was fueled more brightly after Mark left fond emojis in the comment section of the post.
The Vice Governor is currently in Los Angeles California to look after the Queen of All Media. The latter is currently admitted at the UCLA Medical Center as she deals with five existing cases of autoimmune diseases and a probable one, which might develop further.
