This is not a drill: iCarly is coming back, and the OG cast is returning too!

At a time where vloggers and influencers are at the peak of their success, perhaps no one is more fitting to make a comeback in 2021 than the OG vlogger, iCarly.

That’s right — as announced by ViacomCBS on Wednesday, the Nickelodeon classic is coming back, and so are (most of) its cast! Reprising her titular role as Carly Shay is Miranda Cosgrove, who is joined by Jerry Trainor as Carly’s brother Spencer, and Nathan Kress as Freddie. Sadly, there’s no mention of Jennette McCurdy’s Sam being part of the revived ensemble.

Nickelodeon Studios will be producing the reboot. However, the show’s creator, Dan Schneider, won’t be overseeing its production — that mantle has been passed on to directors Jay Kogen and Ali Schouten.

The show will premiere as part of ViacomCBS Paramount+, the rebrand of the CBS All Access streaming service. In addition, all six seasons of the original iCarly will also be available on the new streaming platform, which is set to launch next year.
