Patrick Stewart To Return As Charles Xavier In “Avengers: Secret Wars”

According to a report, Patrick will be joined by Hugh Jackman, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire

Patrick Stewart is gearing up to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

According to Industry insider MyTimeToShineHello, Patrick will play Professor X in “Avengers: Secret Wars.” The news follows hints of cross-universe potential in recent MCU films centered around the multiverse concept.

The MCU began exploring the multiverse in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which united Tom Holland’s Spider-Man with the ones portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

Marvel further dove into the theme in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” In the film, Doctor Strange interacted with alternate versions of familiar characters.

A big part of the film shows Doctor Strange at Earth-838, where he encountered a group identified as the Illuminati.

The film brought together different variants of MCU characters, including Peggy Carter, Black Bolt, Maria Rambeau, Reed Richards, and Charles Xavier.

Although shortened by Scarlet Witch’s actions, Patrick’s brief appearance represented the MCU’s maiden collaboration with the preexisting X-Men cinematic franchise.

“Avengers: Secret Wars,” the successor to “Avengers: Kang Dynasty,” serves as the grand finale of the Multiverse Saga.

Aside from Patrick’s return, Tobey and Andrew are also rumored to reprise their roles as Spider-Man. With Hugh Jackman already confirmed to be in “Deadpool 3,” the chances of his Wolverine appearing are also high.
