Ricky Rivero died over an undisclosed reason
Actor-director Ricky Rivero was pronounced dead on Sunday, July 16, as confirmed by his partner who took to Facebook the announcement of his passing.
Ricky died at the age of 51 for a reason yet to be disclosed. His death came just two months after a cerebrovascular accident (stroke) that put him in the confines of the Philippine Heart Center.
Ricky’s lover, whose identity is still unknown, has announced through Ricky’s Facebook account the sad news.
He writes (published as is): “Good morning po sa inyong lahat maraming salamat po sa tumulong sa asawa ko na c Ricky ngayon po Wala na po c Ricky S. Rivero namayapa na po maraming salamat sa walang sawang tulong sa Asawa ko [praying hands emoji}”
In a succeeding post, Ricky’s partner has shared a photo of them together, as he offers his gratitude for a love shared with the late actor. However, the post was seemingly taken down or set in private as it is no longer accessible as of this writing.
“Asawa pahinga kana. Wala kanang sakit na mararamdaman salamat sa isang taong pagsasama isang taong pag aaway isang taong kasiyahan madaming salamat sa. Lahat asawa [crying emoji] Mahal na mahal kita Ricky S. Rivero,” he writes.
Ricky’s resting place will be at the Loyola Memorial Chapels in Commonwealth, with his family also planning on having his remains cremated after a four-day wake.
Who is Ricky Rivero?
The late director first appeared in German Moreno’s youth-oriented program “That’s Entertainment” on GMA-7 wherein he remained a regular from 1986 to 1996.
After several television and film appearances, he then ventured into directing and made some notable series under ABS-CBN. This includes “Kokey” in 2007, “ Eva Fonda” in 2008, “Mula Sa Puso” in 2011, and “Forevermore” in 2014.
“D’ Aswang Slayerz” bannered by Mel Martinez came as his final project dated in 2023.
