Veteran Actor Ronaldo Valdez Passes Away At 76

Ronaldo was known for his roles as “Mahal na Konde” and “Lolo Sir”

Veteran film and television actor Ronaldo Valdez died at the age of 76, the Quezon City Police District confirmed on Sunday, December 17.  

The veteran actor was reported to have died in the afternoon of December 17. However, details of his death are yet to be disclosed.

Ronaldo has become one of the pillars of the entertainment industry for almost six decades. He last portrayed Lolo Sir for the  ABS-CBN series  “2 Good 2 Be True” bannered by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. 

In almost 60 years in showbiz, Ronaldo has made a mark in the entertainment industry for playing patriarchal roles. Some of his films include “Cedie” wherein he played as the movie’s “Mahal na Konde.“

Ronaldo was also best known for his important portrayal  in “The Flor Contemplacion Story” in 1995 and “Seven Sundays” in 2017. He had also done a handful of series, such as “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “I Love Betty La Fea.” 

One of Ronaldo’s laudable recognitions is the Golden Screen TV Award’s Helen Vela Lifetime Achievement Award for Drama in 2015. 

Ronaldo was the father of musicians Janno Gibbs and Melissa Gibbs. 

Details about his wake and interment are yet to be shared by his family.
