The Peninsula Manila Rated 25th Best Hotel in the World

The Peninsula Manila was named one of the Top 100 Hotels in the World by readers of the prestigious lifestyle magazine, Travel + Leisure. It’s the only Philippine hotel that made it to the extensive list and is recognized as one of Asia’s Top 15 City Hotels. The historic luxury hotel tied for the 25th spot with the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul in Sultanahmet. Both garnered a 98.40 rating.

Voting Criteria

As COVID-19 restrictions lifted, Travel + Leisure conducted the World’s Best Awards survey from January 11 to May 10, 2021. Every year, the New York-based publication asks readers to give their thoughts on the best travel experiences from across the globe. Hotels are rated based on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value. The location and features of the properties determined whether they were categorized as city or resort.

The Verdict

“A grande dame in the center of Manila’s business district, this opulent hotel has 497 rooms and suites, eight restaurants and bars, a spa and fitness center, and an outdoor pool surrounded by tropical gardens,” the publication wrote. In addition, they commended the attentive staff of the Manila Peninsula that were always ready to help guests.

45 Years in the Business

“45 years of commitment to service, heritage, and excellence, The Peninsula Manila has been built on the strength of values and delighting guests. Today and always, The Peninsula Manila remains to delight you and make every guest feel like family with warmth, hospitality, and impeccable service,” stated the management. “Thank you for celebrating countless milestones with us, here’s to countless more!”

The 5-star hotel located in Makati first opened its doors in 1976.

The list features city skyscrapers, jungle glamping, palace resorts, luxe safari lodges, and seaside hideaways in just about every continent. Taking the top spot as the Best Hotel in the World is Mahali Mzuri in Masai Mara, Kenya, scoring 99.73. Travel + Leisure hopes the honorees inspire travelers on their future trips.
