You can now add to cart ahead of IKEA Philippines’ store opening

Brace yourselves, home buddies: the biggest budol is almost upon us.

Everyone is at the edge of their seats waiting for IKEA Philippines to open the doors to its flagship store, but in the middle of a pandemic, trooping to Pasay on opening day might not be the best idea. Good thing the Swedish home furnishings brand has a bright solution: let hungry home buddies add stuff to their shopping lists before the online store goes live.

“This is a function that people can use once we start our e-com operations in the Philippines,” said Georg Platzer, country manager for IKEA, in an interview with Philippine Star

While IKEA Philippines is yet to confirm when the online store will start operations exactly, they did share that it will be ready to receive orders nine weeks after the flagship branch formally opens, which should be around the last quarter of the year.

Until then, we can commence with our wishful window shopping — and it’s a process we’re sure we’re all too familiar with.

First, head to IKEA Philippines’ online store and browse through their wide collection of home décor, accent pieces, and furnishings. You can mix and match the color and set-up of your choice while you’re at it too.

Once you’re ready, just click “save to shopping list” under any product that suits your fancy to fill up your virtual wish list.

Don’t worry about stocks; since there’s no telling yet if they would have units up for delivery or if they’ll only be available in-store, you can just keep the list as a guide once IKEA Philippines is officially open for business.

By then, you’d want to take your time, too. Boasting a floor area as big as 150 basketball courts, the 65,000-square meter flagship store will have five floors and will house a massive 850-seater in-house restaurant.
