Sparkle artist Alden Richards caught the attention of netizens after his lively hosting at the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines 2024 on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Alden once again reprised his role as this year’s host—this time, sharing the stage with Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia, showbiz personality Tim Yap, and American television presenter Jeannie Mai.
While all of the hosts have done stellar hosting throughout, what seemingly hooked the netizens is Alden’s over-the-top way of announcing the candidates—particularly in the announcement of the top 20 finalists.

Alden Richards on hoisting previous Miss Universe Philippines pageant
This is not the first time that Alden hosted the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
He was also one of the presenters in the 202e edition, where he trended after committing a blunder while presenting a special ward.
It was after the actor wrongly merited Miss Agusan Del Norte Jannarie Sarzoso with the Miss Friendship award when it should have been Miss Capiz Shane Glenn Mae Macquiran.

At present, Alden is gearing up for a reunion project with Kathryn Bernardo—the highly anticipated sequel of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” titled “Hello, Love, Again” is slated for release in November 2024.
This 2024 Miss Universe Philippines—held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City—saw the crowning of Bulacan’s pride Chelsea Manalo. She bested 52 other delegates from across the Philippines and overseas—making her the official representative of the country for Miss Universe in Mexico in the latter part of the year.
Chelsea’s royal court is composed of Taguig’s Christi McGarry in fifth place, Quezon Province’s Ahtisa Manalo in third place,and Cainta’s Stacey Gabriel with bridesmaid finish.
The Miss Universe organization has also appointed delegates for four more titles, giving the Miss Cosmo Philippines to Ahtisa, Miss Eco International Philippines to Iloilo’s Alexie Brooks, Miss Supranational Philippines to Baguio’s Tarah Valencia, and Miss Charm Philippines to Pampanga’s Cyrille Payumo.
