NewJeans To Make A Comeback Amid Ongoing Record Label Issue

The girls are also set to make their Japan debut soon!

K-Pop group NewJeans is determined to proceed with their plans for new music releases and additional group schedules despite the ongoing power struggle between their label All Doors One Room (ADOR) and K-pop giant HYBE.

The conflict between HYBE and ADOR intensified when HYBE called for an audit of the sub-agency’s management, which produces New Jeans.

According to Billboard, HYBE “invoked the right to audit CEO Min Hee Jin and top executives of its subsidiary label, ADOR,” leading to a shareholder meeting where CEO Min was asked to step down.

Min Hee Jin retaliated by accusing HYBE and sub-label Belift Lab of copying NewJeans’ concept with the newly-debuted quintet ILLIT. The situation escalated further when Min Hee-Jin held an emergency press conference on April 25 to present her side of the story.

The tension resulted in protest trucks supporting NewJeans outside HYBE’s headquarters and an alleged statement from HYBE’s CEO Park Ji Won urging employees to “work hard,” circulating on Korean news forums.

Despite concerns among fans about the group’s future, Korean media outlet Korea JoongAng Daily reported that NewJeans’ upcoming comeback in May will proceed as planned.

An insider source confirmed, “NewJeans will make a comeback in Korea with a new single in May, whether or not ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin cooperates with HYBE.”

“She must push ahead according to the schedule, as well as the duty of HYBE,” the source added.

The K-Pop group is also reportedly scheduled to make their Japan debut on June 21 with the tracks “Right Now” and “Supernatural.”
