VIVA made sure Alamat is ready for their first solo concert
VIVA’s P-Pop boy group, Alamat, is set to headline its first solo concert on December 1, 2023.
The group’s members Alas, Tomas, Jao, Taneo, R-Ji, and Mo are expected to showcase the skills they honed over time in the concert titled “Dagundong,” which will happen at the New Frontier Theater.
According to the group’s manager, director Jason Paul Laxamana, the management of VIVA believes that the boys are ready to take on a solo endeavor after being part of several P-Pop conventions.
He tells FreebieMNL, “It’s more of VIVA’s decision or perception na ready na ang boys to have their first concert kasi nagkakaroon na rin sila ng regular gigs dito sa Viva Café and laging sold out.
“Isa sila sa sensational acts kapag merong mga P-Pop convention sa Araneta so parang it’s more of the next step for them.
“Clamor rin ng fans na magkaroon na ng solo concert yung Alamat since marami na silang original songs, two albums, and maraming singles. I think yun yung formula para masabi namin na, ‘Okay, pwede na natin silang isalang sa first solo concert.’”

What to expect at the “Dagundong” concert
Direk Jason assures that for the concert, the fans of the boys—called Magiliw—will enjoy the acts they prepared
“Well, siguro gusto natin mag-enjoy yung mga Magiliw, from the very first song ng Alamat hanggang dito sa bagong album nila, maririnig nila lahat.
“A lot of them, may mga bagong areglo, meron din silang mga solo acts to show people how they are as individuals.
“Laging as a group natin sila nakikita pero this time, we also want the boys to shine individually so abangan niyo yung mga solo acts nila.”
Direk Jason also emphasized how the boys are involved in their solo acts.
“We really let them choose kung ano yung piyesa nila, how they want to perform it kasi yung Alamat, kahit grupo siya, gusto namin mabigyan ng opportunity ang bawat isa na ma-exercise yung creative freedom nila, how they want to express themselves artistically.
“So, dito sa solo concert, talagang sila yung bahala sa solo acts nila.”
The boys also share how they prepared for their solo acts and even for the whole concert.
Alas relates, “Siguro, sa solo ko, dito ko mapapakita kung sino talaga kami at saka sa musicality na rin kasi kaming Alamat, iba-iba kami ng taste sa music, so dito makikita yung other side namin.”
Tomas then shares how they have been working hard for their concert.
“Yung preparation ko is hindi lang yung solo, kasama na rin yung sa group kasi mahaba yung performance, e, marami kami ipe-perform.
“Iniisip ko talaga yung buong performance para ma-ready rin yung katawan ko, isip ko, buong pagkatao ko ‘tapos practice every day kasi yung solo namin, kanya-kanya kaming practice noon sa bahay.
“After training namin sa studio, magpa-practice pa kami pauwi para wala talagang mintis pagdating ng time na yun. Kaya ang training talaga namin, hindi natatapos sa training studio namin.
“Kahit pagdating sa bahay papaktrisin pa namin every day, kahit saan kami galing, pa-praktisin namin para ma-perfect, para sulit yung pagpunta ng mga Magiliw.”
For Jao, he wants their fans to “just let out and have fun,” while Taneo says that with their concert, “My only hope is to just bring a smile to our fans.”
Dropping hints about his solo act, R-Ji says, “Yung solo ko po is very me and expect siguro na ako talaga yung tutok sa solo na ito. This is actually a challenge for me kasi hindi ko masyadong kapa pa yung kanta, so pina-practice ko talaga siya araw-araw.”
Finally, Mo emphasizes the importance of taking care of their health to make sure they are physically and mentally equipped amid the preparations for the concert.
“Ire-ready ko yung sarili ko physically and mentally, bawal kasi talaga magkasakit. Kailangan bugbugan talaga sa training and siyempre, nandun pa rin po yung pahinga. Gusto ko ma-enjoy din ng mga Magiliw yung mga performance namin kaya pinaghahandaan talaga namin.”
