“Ako, nagmahal ako nang totoo,” Andrea shares
Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes picks on fresh wounds as she reveals her current state following split with basketball player Ricci Rivero.
In the June 14 episode of ABS-CBN’s “Magandang Buhay,” the “Drag You And Me” star goes candid in a seeming confrontation of her heartbreak days after Ricci Rivero confirmed their split via Twitter.

When Melai Cantiveros, one of the program hosts, asked how is Andrea’s heart after the breakup, the actress replies: “Yung puso ko po, tingin ko ay okay naman siya. I mean it could be worse sa mga nagaganap ngayon.”
“Pwedeng wala rin ako rito today kasi hindi ko kayang humarap sa mga tao, pero tingin ko naman po, sa lahat nang nagaganap ay okay siya ngayon,” she adds.
Andrea also admits that she still clings to it until now and that she is not yet free from the thought of it.
“Tingin ko po kasi kapag sinabing freedom, may part doon ng acceptance. Kasi na-a-accept mo na na kailangan mo nang i-let go ang mga bagay-bagay,” she explains in an outright confirmation that what she had put out is love no less than sincere.
“Alam mo yun, naging totoo kasi sa akin lahat. Ako, nagmahal ako nang totoo, hindi ko yun male-let go agad,” she adds.
In a self-affirming statement, Andrea explains that it is only normal to bask in the pain for a while in order to heal properly.
“Ayaw ko naman maging pretentious na maki-trend lang na I’m unbothered para lang masabi na ‘unbotheredly.’ Aminado ako na nakakaramdam ako kasi tao pa rin ako,” she shares.
Andrea, who shares she still mourns over the dead love, says she projects all her attention to self-improvement and to the people who love her.
“Kahit gusto kong magsalita ay pinipili kong huwag na lang, para walang gulo. Kahit ang dami kong gustong gawin ay pinipili kong piliin na lang ang sarili ko at mag-focus sa kung ano ang mayroon ako at sa mga taong nagmamahal sa akin,” she finishes.
Ricci Rivero’s plea
On Friday, June 9, the basketball figure brought their breakup to the public by publicizing a tweet. Thoroughly explained in it were his misgivings over their relationship and a plea to give them space “to heal and move on.”
What came after that is an online buzz about alleged cheating—pointing that a certain “Konsehala” who was later named as former beauty queen Leren Mae Bautista was the reason behind the breakup. However, she came clean-handed as she dispels rumors about her and Ricci having an illicit affair.

Ricci and Andrea started their romance back in 2022, making their relationship official after the basketball player asked the actress to be exclusive during a UAAP face-off.
