Former Kapuso Anne Curtis seems to be making some sort of a comeback on GMA!
The hosts of “It’s Showtime” are excited to be introduced to the Kapuso viewers!
Earlier today, June 20, ABS-CBN announced that “It’s Showtime” is ending its blocktime contract with TV5 as June 2023 ends. Starting July 1, they will be airing on GMA-7’s sister channel, GTV.
Of this, the hosts of “It’s Showtime” expressed excitement with the new development of their program, including main host Anne Curtis, who was once a Kapuso talent.
Anne writes on Twitter an invitation to Solid Showtimers and Kapuso viewers. She says, “At sa mga Solid Showtimers, Madlang People at mga Kapuso, G na G na? See ya on July 1 sa GTV.”
Vice Ganda, who also retweeted a GMA News tweet about “It’s Showtime,” says in a separate tweet, “LezzzGo na! G na G na kami!”
Ryan Bang writes with a heart emoji, “Madlang People! G tayo!”
Vhong Navarro says, “G na kami! G na ba kayo, Madlang Pips? #ItsShowtimeGnaG”
Kim Chiu says about the new milestone, “Madlang pipol, tara na sa G!!!!”

GMA Chairman reacts to partnership
In a short statement, GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon is happy to welcome “It’s Showtime” to the Kapuso network via GTV.
As read by host Boy Abunda in his show “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” this afternoon, Atty. Gozon says, “We are happy to provide a home to ‘It’s Showtime.'”
According to the executive, they will have a “big contract signing soon” with “It’s Showtime” hosts and producers.
It’s Showtime’s goodbye to TV5
ABS-CBN announced in an earlier statement its decision to end its blocktime agreement for “It’s Showtime” with TV5.
The statement reasons out TV5’s ongoing “programming movements” with the entry of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon taking over “It’s Showtime” on the noontime slot. TV5 offered the 4:30PM slot with a delayed airing for “It’s Showtime” but ABS-CBN decided to “respectfully decline.”
“It’s Showtime” started airing on TV5 on July 16, 2022 at 12:45PM, back to back with TV5’s noontime show, “Tropang LOL.” It was just last April 2023 when “It’s Showtime” returned to the 12nn slot after TV5 pulled the plug on “Tropang LOL.”
“It’s Showtime” on GTV marks another partnership between rival networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7.
Some of their partnerships are Star Cinema movies airing on GMA-7’s broadcast platforms, GMA-7’s international channels and shows airing on ABS-CBN’s iWant TFC, and most recently, their first collaboration for a teleserye, “Unbreak My Heart.”
