Engagement rumors surfaced in June 2022 when Anya was spotted wearing an engagement ring
“The Queen’s Gambit” star Anya Taylor-Joy and musician Malcolm McRae have officially become a married couple. The report comes from PEOPLE on Monday, October 2.
Anya wore an embellished beige Dior gown as she graced the balcony of the Palazzo Pisani Moretta, where the wedding festivities took place. Stunning photos from the event were obtained by the British publication Daily Mail.
Among the distinguished guests for the weekend’s glamorous Venice wedding were Nicolas Hoult, her co-star in “The Menu,” actress Julia Garner, and model Cara Delevigne. The couple was joined by 150 close friends and family members.
Sparks flew between Anya and Malcolm in May 2021 when fans spotted the two kissing in New York City. This romantic connection blossomed two months after they met at the premiere of Anya’s acclaimed Netflix series, “The Queen’s Gambit.”
Their deep bond even inspired Malcolm, one-half of the rock duo More, to write a song dedicated to the actress from “Last Night In Soho.”
In October 2021, Malcolm took the first step in making their relationship official on social media by posting a photo of them with the caption, “Oof supremely happy.” Anya reciprocated by expressing her admiration and praise for her partner on Instagram.

While the couple shared sweet moments on social media, they generally kept the intimate details of their relationship private.
Anya spoke about Malcolm to British Vogue in April, saying, “I said to my partner the other day, that he was my hobby. I see reading as something that I have to do.
“He loved it because he’s the same. I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We’re basically 80 years old and seven at the same time, and it works really well.”

Despite the demands of their respective careers, the couple has found joy in everyday mundane activities and quality time spent together.
Engagement rumors began circulating in June 2022 when Anya was spotted by Page Six wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring while shooting in Australia for “Furiosa.”
