The mastermind behind the crimes in “Can’t Buy Me Love” has already been revealed!
For those who have seen the last few episodes of ABS-CBN’s “Can’t Buy Me Love” on Netflix, they have probably discovered who already killed Divine, played by Shaina Magdayao.
The story of the show headlined by Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano revolved around Caroline’s (Belle) quest to find who killed her mother, Divine, and get justice.

In one of the last episodes of the show, it was revealed that Caroline’s older sister Bettina (Kaila Estrada) was the real killer, shocking viewers as they were not able to guess the mastermind behind the crimes.
During the penultimate episode aired on Netflix yesterday, May 7, Bettina was seen in jail and was not present at the wedding of Caroline and Bingo (Donny Pangilinan).
However, an outtake revealed that Kaila was at the location when they taped the wedding scene along with her co-stars: Agot Isidro, Rowell Santiago, Ruffa Gutierrez, Joao Constancia, and Albie Casino.
A netizen posted the photo on X (formerly Twitter) and asked questions about the show.
The user wrote, “Bakit nandito si Bettina sa wedding? Nalilito ako. Alam ko mas nauna ang taping nito before yung sa pag reveal ng killer dahil last day ng taping ginawa yun. Does it mean ba na when they taped the wedding, di pa sila decided kung sino ang gagawing killer?”
“Can’t Buy Me Love” director Mae Cruz-Alviar saw the tweet and shared a trivia about Kaila’s presence in the wedding location.
She affirmed that the wedding scene was shot before the reveal and that production people at the time already knew that Bettina was the killer.
However, the artists did not know yet who among them would be revealed as the mastermind.
She wrote, “It was a secret still when we shot this. Actors didn’t know yet who the killer was at this time but the key people knew. I put her behind a tree so she won’t be seen in the shots. At this point it was still a guessing game for them.”

A netizen then shared screenshots from the scene where a tree was seen in some of the shots, asking if these were the shots Direk Mae was talking about.

“Can’t Buy Me Love” has yet to air the final episode on free TV this Friday, May 10, on ABS-CBN’s TV platforms.
The series, which airs first on Netflix 72 hours before the TV airing, is the first teleserye of DonBelle as a love team.
