Cardi B Throws Microphone At Concertgoer Who Tossed A Drink At Her

The incident is part of an ongoing trend of concertgoers throwing random objects at their idols

Rapper Cardi B found herself in a heated moment during a Las Vegas concert when an audience member threw a drink at her while she was performing her 2017 hit “Bodak Yellow.”

In response, Cardi appeared shocked and retaliated by throwing the microphone back at the person.

The woman who tossed the liquid was immediately approached by security guards and escorted out of the venue.

More video footage captured Cardi requesting water to cool off, though it remains unclear whether this happened before or after the drink was thrown. Later in the show, Cardi clarified that she did not want anything thrown in her face.

Mic throwing a trend?

This incident is part of a trend in recent months, where concertgoers have been throwing objects at performers.

In June, singer Bebe Rexha injured her left eye when a fan threw a cell phone at her, causing her to collapse. Rapper Drake also faced a similar situation when a cellphone was hurled at him during a show in Chicago.

Other artists have experienced similar disruptions in their performances. One fan threw their mother’s ashes onstage during singer Pink’s concert in London, and singer Harry Styles was seen wincing and holding his left eye after an unknown object hit him during a show in Vienna.

During her Las Vegas residency, singer Adele cautioned the audience against throwing things onstage. She expressed her frustration, saying, “Have you noticed how people are, like, forgetting f***ing show etiquette at the moment? People are throwing on stage? I dare you to throw something at me, and I’ll f***ing kill you.”

Cardi B won’t face charges for the microphone incident, as the case has been closed due to insufficient evidence.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, in consultation with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, decided not to file charges based on the police report filed by a concertgoer.

“After a thorough review of this case and with the consultation from the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, this case has been closed as having insufficient evidence. No charges will be filed in relation to this case,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police told CNN.
