Direk Cathy reveals that she does not know Daniel’s real Instagram account
Following netizens’ claims, Director Cathy Garcia-Sampana has set the record straight and cleared that she did not unfollow Daniel Padilla over his alleged breakup with Kathryn Bernardo.
In fact, the director has not been following the actor ever since. Direk Cathy revealed this on Instagram on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
Direk Cathy writes, “Mga bakla huwag niyo na po ako idamay dito. Wala talaga kayong makikitang supremo dj sa followed ko kasi hindi ko naman siya fina-follow noon pa. Di ko alam totoong account niya kasi.
“20 nga lang fina follow ko e. Noon pa. Kaya huwag na po nating gawing issue. Wala nga akong alam inangkupo.”
Direk Cathy’s name was dragged into the issue after netizens observed on Tuesday, November 21, that Daniel was not in the director’s Instagram following list. With that, netizens were quick to associate it with the ongoing rumors of Daniel and Kathryn’s breakup.

Direk Cathy had a long and illustrious history of working with KathNiel. All bannered by the love team, she helmed three ABS-CBN series “Got to Believe” (2013), “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” (2015, for two weeks), and “La Luna Sangre” (2017).
On top of that, Cathy also directed Kathryn and Daniel’s two box-office hits: “She’s Dating The Gangster” (2014) and “The Hows of Us” (2018).
Robi Domingo, Chie Filomeno address the same issue
Another personality dragged into the issue was Robi Domingo, who was alleged of the same issue of unfollowing Daniel and Andrea Brillantes.
Speculations point at Andrea as the primary reason behind Daniel and Kathryn’s breakup. Such an issue sparked after talent manager Ogie Diaz revealed in a YouTube vlog that Andrea has been having an illicit affair with Daniel.
Robi has broken his silence on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, November 22, to say that there was no truth behind the rumors about him.
He writes, “Whatever is circulating around involving me, it’s not true. Please check your facts first.”

While Robi did not bother to specify, it was clear that he is pertaining to the issue about the list of celebrities who unfollowed Daniel.
Earlier today, November 23, Robi directly addressed the issue by quoting a report from a news outlet saying that he unfollowed Daniel and Andrea on Instagram.

Even “Can’t Buy Me Love” actress Chie Filomeno was not spared, as she slammed a netizen for sparking a rumor about her and Daniel.
The netizen writes, “Isa ka pa Chie, akala mo walang nakakita sa inyo ni Daniel sa Cebu? Hahahaha. Gusto niyo ba ng spiel?”
Chie then quickly replied with, “I know who you are, nakasama ka namin sa Cebu diba sa loob ng kotse na pinalabas ka ng marshall kasi hindi ka naman kasali sa prod team. Pasalamat ka mabait si Kath, you’ll spread fake news pa? Tapang mo naman.”

Following that, Chie pressed further, “Oh bakit ka naman nagprivate?” after the involved netizen went private on X.
Daniel and Kathryn’s alleged breakup first made headlines on November 8, brought about by claims from Ogie Diaz’s vlogs. However, subtle hints that they are still together followed suit, including Daniel’s Instagram story of Kathryn and an event that they attended together.
