Cesar Montano received a bronze medal for Best in Policy Paper
Not letting his age get in the way, veteran actor Cesar Montano has turned to social media to share his latest academic achievement.
The 60-year-old actor earned his master’s degree in Public Safety Administration from the Philippine Public Safety College. He uploaded photos taken from his graduation last week on his Instagram page on Monday, July 10, 2023.
“Congrats to all my classmates in MASTER IN PUBLIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (MPSA )! Mabuhay ang HAPSAY CLASS 2022-24 ! Mabuhay ang Phil.Public Safety College( PPSC)! Mabuhay ang DILG! Mabuhay ang Pilipino!” he captioned his post.
In the comment section of his post, Cesar received congratulatory messages from his fans, friends, and family including children Diego Loyzaga, Chesca Montano, and Sam Cruz.
On Facebook, Cesar posted several photos of him attending the commencement exercises, proudly wearing the graduation gown and cap.
“I was a scholar too. I want to inspire people by showing them there’s no substitute for education,” the actor said in another interview.
In a Facebook live video, Cesar also showed that he received a bronze medal for Best in Policy Paper for his work titled “Arts as Instrument of Drug Rehabilitation: A Policy Recommendation.”
The veteran actor is one of 47 graduates in his class, which included police officials, jail officers, fire officers, coast guard commanders, and more.
In 2009, Cesar graduated from Lyceum of the Philippines with a degree in Mass Communication.
Cesar as a proud grandfather
Cesar also made headlines after he congratulated his son Diego who recently welcomed his first daughter last month.
“I am proud and I feel blessed,” he said in an interview with Inquirer.net.
When asked for the advice that he can give his son, the seasoned actor was quick to note that he is not a perfect father.
“I am still a work in progress. I have failures and shortcomings. But I grew and learned important things that I want to share with my dear son, Diego,” he said.
Among the things that he advised are to be present and engaged, to be patient and understanding, and finally to lead by example.
