Claudine vows, “Kukunin ko na ulit kung ano yung akin”
Claudine Barretto claims that her estranged husband Raymart Santiago embezzled “hundreds of millions” from her when they were still together.
In a YouTube interview with Luis Manzano on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Claudine shares some of her life ordeals, including the huge sum of money she saved and lost at the hands of her husband Raymart.

According to Claudine, she was able to save big from the past ABS-CBN Teleseryes she headlined: “Mula sa Puso (1997-1999)” and “Saan Ka Man Naroroon (1999-2001).” However, she attests that the savings have gone to waste after falling into the hands of her estranged husband.
Consistently referring to Raymart as her ex-husband, Claudine says, “We’re talking about hundreds of millions na. Ang iniwan sa akin was 25,000 pesos. Sa isang bangko pa lang was, like, Php116 million.”
Claudine says that Raymart was only able to return Php 7 million, and he was yet to retrieve the remaining amount from where he hid it.
More so, Claudine says that at that time, she chose not to contest the stolen money in fear of embarrassing their kids—Sabina and Santino.
She says, “We were still together. Kasi nga, kukunin pa niya sa sino yung mga pinagtaguan niya nung perang yun.
“Kasi, ayoko siyang matulad sa parang na, you know, yung tatay ng mga anak ko, magnanakaw.”
Claudine Barretto vows to take back everything
Raymart’s lack of support for the kids have prompted Claudine to contest the money and the properties.
On top of that, Vilma Santos, who Claudine says serves as her anchor, had advised her to fight for her legal rights, thus, prompting Claudine to take the necessary legal actions against Raymart.
Claudine and Vilma used to work together for the 2000 hit film “Anak.”
Claudine says, “Sabina wants to study abroad, Santino’s in Brent, and alam naman natin kung gaano kamahal nun.
“So, parang since hindi na nabibigay yung support na in-order ng court, parang yun yung sinasabi ng mom mo na ipaglaban mo.
“So, this time, malaki na yung mga anak ko, in-explain ko na, ‘Okay, we have to… kukunin ko na ulit kung ano yung akin.’”

In the same interview with Luis Manzano, Claudine elaborated on the complaints and legal actions he filed against her husband. It includes Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC), annulment, and money and property disputes.

Claudine says that she’s taking it in strides—going through one case after the other, as she taps on the issue of annulment right now.
However, Claudine says that Raymart seems to have been pulling his strings and raising custody issues.
She says, “So ngayon, we’re doing yung annulment naman.
“We’re going through the process. Kaya lang, ayun na naman, may custody.
“Pero how can you ask for custody, Sabina is 19 years old, 16 years old si Santino.
“So, it’s really impossible. Parang nanggugulo lang para makagulo.”
Claudine has initially spoken up about the issues back in 2023. In a YouTube vlog with Karen Davila, she says that Raymart “started being a not a good father again” and has tried to fight for custodial rights with their kids.
Claudine and Raymart wed in a civil setup in 2004. A church wedding then followed in 2006.
