Is Dimples Romana’s character a friend or a foe in “High Street?”
After a few months of taking a break from doing teleseryes, Dimples Romana is back with an intriguing role in ABS-CBN’s primetime series, “High Street.”
“High Street” is the second season of “Senior High,” headlined by Andrea Brillantes, Juan Karlos, Elijah Canlas, Xyriel Manabat, Daniela Stranner, Zaijian Jaranilla, Miggy Jimenez, with Angel Aquino and Mon Confiado.
Dimples plays the role of Tori, the boss of Tania (Angel) whose character is still mysterious to everyone, not knowing if she’s a friend or a foe.
During the recent media conference of “High Street,” Dimples admitted that it wasn’t an instant yes not only for the show but for every role that comes her way, given that her priority is her family
She shares, “Ako lang siguro with this, lagi ako naninimbang kasi siyempre, at the end of the day, dahil pamilyado akong tao, meron akong ipinapalit sa oras na yon and very precious sa akin yung time ko with my family.
“So, to choose to be on the side of that, siyempre, wala naman talagang papantay sa oras ng pamilya but it should be something of value to other people as well.”
But what made her say yes is her daughter Callie, a part of Generation Z, the target market of “High Street.”
“May Gen Z ako na anak and when I think of ‘High Street,’ I think of Cal and she’s not here. What would she appreciate, what kind of work ang magagawa ko na magiging proud ang anak kong ginawa ko ‘tong trabahong to? Nandoon na ako.
“So, yung sa akin, yung preparation is really more of [that and] mawawala ako sa bahay namin kasi nagu-‘Gud Morning Kapatid’ pa rin ako and thankfully, with my Dreamscape family, they allow me to shoot, to do the [morning] show first before I shoot for them.”
Dimples is also one of the anchor hosts of TV5’s morning public affairs program, “Gud Morning Kapatid,” a new venture she did late last year.

Who is Tori?
As for her character, Dimples had to make it more “textured,” given that her character remains mysterious to everyone.
She plans to attack it differently with the help of her directors Onat Diaz and Lino Cayetano.
“Yung preparation lang namin nila Direk Onat and Direk Lino, mas conversations on how to pace the character kasi kilala ang ‘Senior High’ for dropping bombs here and there, now and tomorrow.
“Now, for my character, it has to mean something at some point and dapat yung hindi ko pa nagagawa dati, yun naman yung laging binibigay ng Dreamscape sa akin na bago doon sa pwede kong i-offer.
“I think yun yung mahirap kapag lumaki ka na sa industriyang ito, yung challenge na is not even to compete with anyone but yourself, yung kapag tinignan mo, I hope hindi nila ma-remember si Daniela dito, I hope hindi nila ma-remember si Selene dito, may mga ganun na kami.”
Daniela and Selene are Dimples’ roles in “Kadenang Ginto” and “The Iron Heart,” respectively.
But everyone remains asking if Tori is a friend, foe, ally, or villain because no one can really tell so far.
Dimples just said: “Ako din, e! Para lang alam niyo, ako rin hindi ko rin alam.”
“High Street” started airing on May 13, 2024 on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block, showing in A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and TV5.
