Hollywood’s demand for Dolly de Leon is showing no signs of slowing down!
Award-winning Filipino actress Dolly de Leon is set to join the cast of the American TV series “Nine Perfect Strangers” season two top-billed by Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman.
According to a report by Deadline, also joining the upcoming season of the Hulu original series are Liv Ullmann, Murray Bartlett, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aras Aydin.
The “Nine Perfect Strangers” is based on the 2018 novel of the same title by Liane Moriarty.
“Nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living with a 10-day star at a boutique wellness resort run by the resort’s director Masha (Nicole Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine ‘perfect’ strangers have no idea what is about to hit them,” the report said about the second installment of the series.
There is no information yet on the second season’s release date.
Dolly was earlier reported to also join the cast of the Amazon Original Movie, Paul Feig’s action comedy “Grand Death Lotto.”
The “Triangle of Sadness” actress is also expected to star with Kathryn Bernardo in the upcoming local movie “A Very Good Girl.”
The “Triangle of Sadness” 2022 Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or win has put the Filipina actress on the map worldwide, receiving acclaim for her performance as cleaning lady-turned-shipwreck survivor Abigail.
Among the other accolades she has received is a Best Supporting Actress nod from the LA Film Critics Awards and Sweden’s Guldbaggage Awards for “Triangle of Sadness.” She also received subsequent nominations as the first Filipina at the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs.
Apart from “Nine Perfect Strangers,” Dolly is set to appear in an independent film, “Between The Temples.”
