K-Pop Group FIFTY FIFTY To Collaborate With Sabrina Carpenter

FIFTY FIFTY has dropped a new version of their hit song “Cupid”

K-pop girl group FIFTY FIFTY recently announced it would release a new version of its hit song “Cupid” with American singer Sabrina Carpenter, despite its ongoing legal dispute with its record label.

The four-member act dropped their newest track on August 18, 2023, via various streaming platforms. This also marks FIFTY FIFTY’s first collaboration with Sabrina.

The new version features the “Nonsense” singer taking on the song’s second verse.

The group likewise posted a visualizer video which now has almost 400,000 views.

Milestones and challenges

The new version of “Cupid” comes as the group consisting of Aran, Keena, Saena, and Sio continues to be embroiled in a legal battle with agency Attrakt.

In June, Attrakt claimed that an “external force” had approached the FIFTY FIFTY members and tried to convince them into breaking their exclusive contracts by signing with new companies.

The members later filed for an injunction to suspend their contracts with Attrakt.

The dispute has led to the cancellation of the group’s activities, including appearances at events outside of South Korea, according to reports.

Despite this, 2023 has been a huge year for FIFTY FIFTY so far, as they formed a partnership with Warner Records earlier this year because of the success of the said song.

Further putting the four-piece group on the map was their recent participation on the soundtrack of the highly-acclaimed film “Barbie” alongside the likes of Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, and HAIM, among others.

FIFTY FIFTY debuted in November 2022 and rose to widespread popularity after becoming the fastest K-pop act to enter Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with “Cupid.” The song has accumulated millions of streams as of this writing.
