Here Are The Entries Of The First Summer MMFF

The first Summer MMFF is finally happening this year!

The first Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will finally happen this 2023.

The eight entries of the first Summer MMFF were revealed through a press conference on Friday, February 24, 2023.

The eight films produced by different movie outfits feature a mix of big stars and up-and-coming actors. Coco Martin, Enchong Dee, Carlo Aquino, Kylie Padilla, Bela Padilla, and Gerald Anderson are just some of the stars who are set to be seen in the entries.

In a report by PEP.ph, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that 33 finished films were submitted for the first Summer MMFF. Twenty-three of these are new films while 10 were resubmissions from the 2022 MMFF last December.

The first summer MMFF will run from April 8 to April 18, 2023. The Parade of Stars will happen on April 2 in Quezon City, and the Awards Night will be held on April 11.

In alphabetical order, here are the eight entries of the first MMFF:

1. “About Us But Not About Us”

Starring: Romnick Sarmienta, Elijah Canlas

2. “Apag”

Starring: Coco Martin, Lito Lapid, Jaclyn Jose, Gladys Reyes, Gina Pareño

3. “Here Comes The Groom”

Starring: Keempee de Leon, Enchong Dee, Maris Racal, Awra Briguella, Xilhouete, KaladKaren

4. “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko”

The first Summer MMFF was supposed to happen in 2020. However, MMFF had to halt the festival because of the lockdown, following the COVID-19 pandemic.
