ABS-CBN Launches “It’s Your Lucky Day” As Temporary Replacement For “It’s Showtime”

Luis Manzano will lead the newest noontime program!

ABS-CBN will introduce a new noontime show called “It’s Your Lucky Day” once the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board’s twelve-day suspension on “It’s Showtime” takes effect starting October 14, 2023. 

The Kapamilya network made the announcement on Wednesday, October 11—days after it conceded over the regulatory board’s decision to reject its Motion for Reconsideration

As a temporary replacement, ABS-CBN will air “It’s Your Lucky Day” for 12 consecutive days on its noontime block. 

The program will be bannered by “Pambansang Host” Luis Manzano together with other hosts Jennica Garcia, Melai Cantiveros, and Robi Domingo. On top of the roster, the program will be graced by special co-hosts and celebrity guests. 

Based on the poster, ABS-CBN’s The Gold Squad composed of Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin, as well as comedians Negi, Long Mejia, Petite, and Divine Tetay are part of the program.

According to the announcement, the program is produced by the same team behind “It’s Showtime.” It will also feature a set of original game and variety segments, which will run from October 14 to 27 on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and GTV. 

Other streaming channels include Kapamilya Online Live, IWantTFC, and TFC.

“It’s Showtime” concedes over MTRCB ruling 

“It’s Showtime” yielded to the MTRCB’s decision, as announced on Friday, October 6. 

The statement reads (published as is), “After careful consideration, ABS-CBN has decided not to appeal to the Office of the President the decision of the MTRCB on “It’s Showtime” and instead serve the 12-day suspension starting October 14. 

“We respect the authority of MTRCB, but we humbly maintain that the program did not break any pertinent law. 

“Our heartfelt thanks to our viewers for their unwavering love and support for “It’s Showtime,” which will return on October 28 stronger and better than ever. 

Maraming salamat, Madlang People!” 

The regulatory body has sanctioned the program over  alleged “indecent acts” displayed by program hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez during the July 25 episode of “It’s Showtime.” .

The program then issued one Motion for Reconsideration in an attempt to appeal against the ruling. However, the MTRCB remained firm with its decision and went to reject the MR.
