Jodi reveals, “The time I spent in His waiting room was never easy nor was it comfortable”
Jodi Sta. Maria‘s marriage to ex-husband Pampi Lacson has been annulled by the Supreme Court after a 13-year petition.
The 41-year-old actress shared the news through an Instagram post she published on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Jodi uploaded a photograph of her in white dress while basking in the sunset. Attached to it is a quote lifted from Nick Frederickson: “So I close my eyes to old ends, and open my heart to new beginnings.”
In a lengthy caption about “faith and trust,” Jodi bares that the waiting lasted over 13 years, which she deems as God’s perfect timing.
She writes, “Finally after 13 years of waiting my petition for nullity of marriage has been granted by the Supreme court. It was indeed a test of faith and trust – FAITH in God’s promises and TRUST in God’s timing.
As for Jodi, the road leading up to the annulment was never a walk in the park. In fact, she shares that emotions after emotions were felt during the process.
She shares, “The time I spent in His waiting room was never easy nor was it comfortable. It was frustrating, discouraging, and even heartbreaking. I cried, prayed, questioned and complained. I made “tampo,” asked for forgiveness, prayed some more. I wanted to give up but He never let go of me.”
Despite the taxing path, Jodi believes that it was the Lord’s grace that ferried her across. She continues, “He had a purpose for the waiting. And that was made clear to me by the Lord.
“I know some of you might be in His waiting room. May I encourage you with this? ‘When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.‘ -Isaiah 60:22
“God is never in a hurry. He is never too late. Never too early. Believe He is able to do something about your situation. Trust He has a plan for you and that plan is even better than the one you have for yourself.
“And when God finally calls you out of the waiting room, don’t forget to thank Him and give Him all the glory.”
Jodi wraps up her letter with gratitude, particularly to her legal team who pushed the case to the end.
She writes, “Before I end this already lengthy post, please allow me to thank the people who were with me on this journey. My prayer warriors you guys know who you are – salamat for standing with me in prayer.
“And to my lawyer and friend @conniejaquino of Calleja Law Office for the guidance, patience, and friendship. Thank you for never giving up on my case.
“Now I can finally say… CASE CLOSED.”
Jodi and Pampi got married in 2005; they have a son named Panfilo “Thirdy” Lacson III who they co-parent together.

They parted ways in 2011, with their marriage initially terminated through annulment in 2014. However, in 2017, the Court of Appeals retracted the initial verdict, stating that there was no sufficient evidence to nullify the marriage.
Iwa Moto reacts to Jodi Sta. Maria and Pampi’s annulment
Jodi’s 13-year wait for annulment was celebrated by fans and industry colleagues, including her ex-husband’s present partner Iwa Moto.
Despite being separated, Jodi’s cordial relationship with Pampi and Iwa remains tight. In fact, they practice a blended family wherein Iwa accommodates Jodi and Thirdy as part of their family.
Just one of the attestations of Iwa’s good-natured demeanor towards Jodi was when she commented on her annulment post. The actress writes, “Let’s celebrate [love emoji] Love you amor!”
Iwa and Pampi were said to have started dating in 2012 after Pampi’s separation from Jodi in 2011. Now, the couple have two children, Hirome Eve and Caleb Jiro.
