Joey did not agree with Jacob’s sentiments at all
Actress Joey King, known for her role in “The Kissing Booth,” finds Jacob Elordi’s critique of the Netflix movie franchise “unfortunate.”
Recently, Jacob expressed in an interview with GQ that he considered the “Kissing Booth” movies “ridiculous.”
“I didn’t want to make those movies before I made those movies,” the actor said. “Those movies are ridiculous. They’re not universal. They’re an escape.”

In a separate interview with Variety, Joey responded saying, “I think it’s unfortunate anyone would feel that way. I had a great time making those movies no matter what anyone says.”
In the teen rom-com trilogy, Joey and Jacob played the roles of Elle Evans and Noah Flynn, respectively. Jacob also mentioned in the interview that the “one for them, one for me” working ethos in Hollywood can become a self-imposed trap.
Taylor Zakhar Perez, who portrayed Marco Peña in the movies, shared his thoughts on Jacob’s comments: “I thought it was a shame because to my knowledge, everybody else had such a wonderful experience. It’s a shame that was his experience on the set.”

Taylor also acknowledged the movie’s positive impact on fans during a challenging time, saying, “Especially when those movies came out, it was a time when we really needed something like that.
“I know from our fan interactions, getting stopped everywhere I go, what ‘Kissing Booth’ means to people and what it brought them during such a dark time.
“I guess the silver lining is he still made people laugh and feel good.”
