Jo Koy will be filming his fifth and sixth show under Netflix this year
Fil-Am comedian Jo Koy is set to continue bringing laughter to more online viewers this year. The famed comedian is set to do two stand-up specials for Netflix.
Jo Koy shared the good news with his fans through a social media post on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. In the said post, the famed comedian captured an article from Variety that discusses his upcoming projects.
“Just inked a deal for 2 more specials exclusively for Netflix. Thank you to my amazing team (Arsonhouse- Joe Meloche / CAA-Matt Blake • Steve Smooke) and the @netflix family (Robbie • Joanne • Neal) for making this happen. Big love to all my fans out there. Without you none of this is possible. Brooklyn… get ready,” Jo Koy captioned his Instagram post.
The Variety report noted that Jo Koy’s next two specials will be his fifth and sixth with Netflix.
“The specials will mark Koy’s fifth and sixth with Netflix; first up, the next one will tape at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on November 10 and 11, with an expected 2024 premiere. Art & Industry is producing that special,” the post read.

Jo Koy’s most recent Netflix special, “Jo Koy: Live At The Los Angeles Forum,” premiered in September 2022.
Another notable project that he did with Netflix was titled “Jo Koy: In His Elements,” which was released in 2020 and shot in Manila and featured local culture, as well as Filipino-American comedians, DJs, and B-boys.
Prior to that, the Pinoy comedian’s other hour-long standup specials for Netflix include 2017’s “Live from Seattle” and 2019’s “Comin’ In Hot.”
Jo Koy’s shows on the streaming platform have gained viewership which eventually led him to tackle the big screen.
Jo Koy starred in Universal Pictures’ 2022 film “Easter Sunday,” which was based on his stand-up comedy.
His venture into films won’t stop there as he will next be heard in Netflix’s animated fantasy action comedy “The Monkey King,” which was released globally last August 18, 2023.
The stand-up comedian is currently doing a world tour with stops in the USA, Canada, and UAE.
