Former sweethearts Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, formerly known by their love team moniker JoshLia, are set to reunite in a new film directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana.
PEP.ph confirmed the news on November 28. However, as of the time of writing, ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc. has not made an official announcement on the upcoming JoshLia movie.
The duo’s last joint venture was the 2020 film “Block Z” directed by Mikhail Red. They also collaborated in 2021 for the music video of Moira Dela Torre’s song “Paubaya,” which premiered on Valentine’s Day.

Reflecting on their cinematic history in an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda on May 19, Julia shared her initial impression of Joshua during their first film together, “Vince and Kath and James.”
She recalled, “With Josh, that was our first film together. I remember from the first day, Tito Boy, after the first scene, I went back to the tent, and I told my team, I was like, ‘I’ve never felt this kind of chemistry with anybody that I’ve worked with. Good things will only come from here.'”
Julia expressed their awareness of their onscreen chemistry, “That’s why we don’t give up on our tandem.”
On May 25, Boy asked Joshua on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” if he was willing to work with Julia again on a project. “Yes, sinasabi ko sa mga bossing namin yan,” he answered.
The two stars have been featured in multiple films, including “Love You To The Stars and Back,” “Unexpectedly Yours,” and “I Love You, Hater.”
