Carmina Villarroel Turns Emotional Over Son Mavy Legaspi’s Mother’s Day Message

Mavy to Carmina: “God will bless those who are good to the worst people in this world”

Carmina Villarroel had her emotions stirred up by a moving Mother’s Day message from her son Mavy Legaspi.

Carmina’s 23-year-old son expressed his fondest words—particularly on how patient and considerate his mother is—during the May 4, 2024 episode of GMA-7’s “Sarap ‘Di Ba?”

Mavy begins with: “Happy Mother’s Day, maraming salamat sa patience and understanding.

“We’re back on track and sana tuluy-tuloy lang ito. Feel ko, ito yung blessing na ibinigay ni Lord para sa atin, personally, as mother and son na duo.”

As Carmina’s tears well up, Mavy says that his mother does not necessarily have to respond to criticisms online—mainly because it’s a battle not worth fighting for.

He adds, “Kayang-kaya mo. Di na kailangan magsalita, di na kailangan i-justify or fight the criticism. Lahat ng criticisms or hate kasi wala yun, bored lang sila sa buhay nila.

“At the end of the day, I know in their hearts, kahit may criticism whatsoever, they all have their own mothers that they love.

Kaya, we don’t need to fight back kasi God will bless those who are good to the worst people in this world. Kaya, I’m very thankful to have a mother figure like you kasi nata-transfer yun sa amin ni [Cassy].”

Carmina has been a subject of controversy lately, after netizens misjudged her posts as an allusion to Mavy’s ex-girlfriend Kyline Alcantara. Just as much, netizens have also associated her post to daughter Cassy Legaspi’s relationship with Darren Espanto.

Vague may it come to the public, Mavy seemingly insinuates having an unspoken understanding with his mom about a particular, undisclosed matter.

He continues, “I guess, itong turn of events naging malaking blessing para sa akin to realize a lot of things. Yes, it looks like parang hindi tayo lumalaban, we don’t need to. Kasi yung biggest strength that you have is deep inside there—na hindi nakikita ng mga tao.

Yung mga nakikita ng mga tao is mga posts, mga comments, interviews, and all that. Pero hindi nila nakikita ang anong laman ng puso ni Mama, and that’s my biggest blessing kaya happy Mother’s Day.”

Just as much, Mavy’s twin Cassy also offered Carmina words of appreciation—specifically on how selfless she is as a mother.

She begins, “Ayun, I’ll keep it short but sweet. So, ayun, Mommy, Happy Mother’s Day. And of course, thank you sa patience mo with me, Mavy, and of course, our bunso, si Tatay [Zoren Legaspi]…

“And thank you for always choosing us before yourself. Alam ko na yan yung number one trait sa mga nanay since very selfless sila, they always put their kids first, and I admire that with you.”

Carmina is often viewed as an overprotective mother, mainly for outrightly being defensive of her kids from people who have ill intentions towards the twins.

In the January 28, 2024 YouTube interview with Ogie Diaz, Carmina says that no one has the right to hurt her kids for she never laid a finger on them in the first place. This has been the lesson she instilled into her kids, saying, “Huwag kayong papayag kasi hindi tama. Hindi tama na manakit ng kapwa.”
