Julie Anne San Jose Reacts To Fans Pitting Her Against Jolina Magdangal

Julie Anne San Jose on “Pop Icon” title issue: “Wala po akong inaangkin, wala po sa akin yung mga titles po na yan”

Julie Anne San Jose has only good words for Jolina Magdangal.

This is the reason why she was surprised by the social media war that went on recently, with fans pitting the two of them against each other, which all started with a poster from “The Voice Generations” that tagged Julie Anne as a “Pop Icon.”

Fans went berserk on social media, saying that the artist who deserves the title is Jolina, having cultivated her legacy in Pinoy pop culture since she was a teen star.

Jolina and Julie Anne’s fans came in defense of their idols, initiating a word war on Twitter that went on for days.

Admittedly, Julie was aware of the issue and does not even know how will she react to what was happening.

But she positions herself to this: “Ayoko po talaga ng pinag-aaway kami, ayoko po ng conflict sa kahit sino po, especially sa co-artists ko.

This is especially true for Jolina, whom she has worked with during her younger years in showbiz.

She says, “Simula bata pa lang ako, si Ate Jolens, talagang parang naging ate ate ko na siya simula bata pa lang ako, ‘Popstar Kids’ pa lang.

Kaya parang wala naman pong reason para magkaroon ng resentment sa aming dalawa because I always look up to her and I have always been looking up to her.”

Julie Anne spoke to FreebieMNL and other press after the Q&A proper of “The Voice Generations” recent media conference at GMA Network Center.

“Wala po akong inaangkin”

Julie Anne, who is touted by GMA-7 as “Asia’s Limitless Star,” has also addressed the issue of titles. After all, that was where the social media wars stemmed from.

She shyly says, “Wala po akong inaangkin, wala po sa akin yung mga titles po na yan.

“And yes, si Ate Jolens talaga, she deserves that more than anything in this world, so, wala po talaga akong kaso.

“I just want to work and I just love what I do and wala po sa akin yung mga titles na yan, gusto ko lang pong kumanta, gusto ko lang mag-work.”

But Julie Anne can’t help but feel bad about what happened.

She admits, “Siyempre, hindi naman po maiiwasan na ma-feel bad about it kasi kahit papaano, may pinagsamahan din naman po kami ni Ate Jolens.

“And hindi lang naman po si Ate Jolens, of course yung mga ibang artists din po na before nasa Kapuso network.

“But wala po kasi talagang reason bakit kailangang magkaroon ng conflict between us because first and foremost, magaan ang loob namin sa isa’t isa, I have so much respect for them and for Ate Jolens as well.”

In the end, Julie Anne remains positive, feeling the good vibes she has in life.

“Okay lang po yun kasi part naman po yan ng buhay natin. Ako naman, wala naman po akong pine-please or wala po akong resentment sa kahit kanino po.

“Good vibes lang talaga at saka hindi yan ang kailangan ng world natin ngayon. Positivity talaga kasi ang daming nangyayari. Ang kailangan natin ngayon ay magtulungan talaga at saka spread good vibes.”

Julie Anne and Jolina seeing each other

Julie Anne and Jolina have, in fact, seemed to have put the issue to a close and did not let their friendship be affected.

Jolina also posted their photo on Instagram that day. Her caption reads, “Finally… its really nice to see you, chika with you and laugh with you. Labyu Japs!”

Julie replied in the comments section, “Love you ate Jolens [heart emoji]”
