Kim to Ogie Diaz: “Tito, hindi po yan totoo”
Actress Kim Rodriguez makes a case for her name as she dispels the ongoing rumor about her alleged involvement with basketball player Marc Pingris.
The 29-year-old actress made headlines over the Holy Week after netizens associated her with Marc. The rumor first sparked on Wednesday, March 27, 2024—when a certain X user put malice on Kim and Marc’s separate photos taken at exactly the same place.
Kim and Marc were both photographed in front of the Sydney Opera House in Australia, while the other two photos in question show them posing with a crew of a famous food stall in the Philippines.

Quick to speculate, the netizens then dragged Kim into a cheating narrative—pointing to a bigger question about Marc’s current relationship status with wife Danica Sotto and kids, Jean Michel, Anielle Micaela, and Jean-Luc.
As the matter goes beyond control, Kim has then released a statement through her talent manager Ogie Diaz.
In a YouTube vlog uploaded on March 30, 2024, the entertainment columnist attests that Kim has no direct involvement with the former PBA player.
He says, “Nakausap ko nga itong si Kim Rodriguez dahil ako nga ay binulabog ng mga tawag, ng mga text at mga DM [direct message] at PM [personal message].
“Kaya kinausap ko yung alaga ko. Syempre, bilang manager ano, bilang vlogger din, dalawa yung [trabaho ko] kasi medyo nahihirapan ako sa sitwasyon na ito.
“Ako’y tumatayo bilang manager ni Kim Rodriguez at sa kabilang banda, ako rin ay isang vlogger na inaasaahan ninyong lahat na magsasalita kung anong totoo.”

But what is the truth? Taking the words of Kim, Ogie says that the photos happened by chance and only accidentally. “Tito, hindi po yan totoo,” Kim admits to Ogie.
“Nagpunta ako diyan sa [gas station]. Nag-stop over ako diyan kasi papunta ako ng Subic kasama yung mga kaibigan ko. Yung kay Marc Pingris po, hindi ko po alam kung kailan yun.”
Ogie says that Kim is firm with her truth, as she challenges the netizens to ask the crew herself about the photo.
“Kaya sabi niya sa akin, ‘Kahit itanong po ninyo diyan sa girl na yan kung magkasama kami ni Marc o pareho niya kaming nakita on that day, that same time. I’m sure alam niya yung totoo.’”
As for the photos taken in front of the Sydney Opera House, Kim says that she was with two other friends at that time.
As Ogie puts it, “Sabi sa akin ni Kim, ‘Anong pakialam ko kung may picture doon si Marc Pingris sa Opera House, e ako rin merong picture.’”
Marc Pingris, wife Danica Sotto break silence on issue with Kim Rodriguez
Prior to Kim’s statement, Marc has initially broken his silence on the matter. Just as much, his wife Danica also tapped on the matter lightly on Facebook.
Mark aired his sentiments on Facebook on Thursday, March 28, 2024—in an attempt to control the malicious notion that might affect his relationship with Danica and his kids.
He writes, “Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez. Walang namamagitan sa aming dalawa gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao.
“Nakasama ko po si Ms. Kim sa isang basketball event at sa isa pang event noong naging muse siya ng team namin.
“Salamat din sa nag pa abot ng concern. Ok kami ng pamilya ko. Wag na po tayo magpakalat ng mga balita na hindi totoo.
“Humihingi po kami ng respeto para hindi madamay ang mga anak namin ni Danica. Salamat po at God bless po.”
Danica, for her part, has commented on a Facebook post made by a friend, Pebbles Duque. Amid the speculation, Pebbles has taken the time to write about and defend Marc’s photo in front of the Sydney Opera House.
She writes, “Re Marc Pingris: The photo was taken before pa Feb 16. My best friend Danica and him have a very beautiful family.
“Holy week na, dasal na lang po tayo para naman mabawasan yung mga kasalanan natin.”
In response, Danica has commented, “Kalma miga! We love you.”
Amid the heavy tittle-tattle on their relationship, Marc and Danica have outrightly junked the malicious rumors through a family trip to Lingayen.
