Fourth-generation K-pop girl group Lapillus, which includes Filipino-Argentinian member Chanty, has officially made their comeback with the release of their second mini-album, “GIRL’s ROUND Part. 2” and their title track’s music video.
“Who’s Next,” the new album’s title song, is an upbeat dance track that explores the girls from MLD Entertainment’s unique adventurous energy.
The lyrics of the song send a message of self-confidence and strongly pushes one to embrace who they are. As they cement their stance as the upcoming rookie girl group, Lapillus sings their hearts out and show off what they got in their latest single.
In the accompanying music video which was also dropped on June 22, 2023, the members opted for a dark, bad girl concept and individually showed off their charm.
The video has already raked in almost 350,000 views by this writing.
“Who’s Next” is a song that displays Lapillus’ “unique adventurous energy,” with lyrics that “builds [the] self-confidence of the listeners,” label MLD Entertainment said in a press release.
Lapillus’ comeback
Apart from “Who’s Next,” the group also dropped their new songs “Marionette” a pop track with a different girl-crush charm; “ULALA” a dance song etched with a Latin vibe; and “Paper” an appealing song with catchy vocoder sound.
“With these songs, the ability of Lapillus to express different genres will surely be appreciated,” the company added.
The EP is the second installment to the group’s “Girl’s Round” album series. The first part, released in September 2022, contained the single “Gratata.”
Lapillus — which also includes Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun — debuted in June 2022 with the single “Hit Ya!”.
The sextet is also scheduled to perform at KCON LA, happening from August 18 to 20, 2023 in Los Angeles, California.
