Marian Rivera also gets inspired by stories she presents in “Tadhana”
GMA Public Affairs’ drama anthology, “Tadhana” is set to celebrate its sixth anniversary tomorrow, November 4.
It was in 2017 when the show aired its pilot episode with “Kapuso Primetime Queen” Marian Rivera as its main host.
Marian, despite being on hiatus from doing long projects, continues to host the program for six years.
She says about the show’s new milestone, “Yung anim na taon ng ‘Tadhana,’ hindi siya magiging posible kung hindi rin dahil sa viewers na walang sawang sumusuporta sa programa.
“At hindi lang manunuod ang nai-inspire sa mga kuwento, ako mismo, talagang nai-inspire ako sa mga kuwento ng ating kababayan na kahit mahirap ang buhay, puno ng pagsubok, ay di sumusuko.
“Sana ay patuloy niyo kaming samahan tuwing Sabado, at sabay-sabay nating pagtagumpayan ang hamon ng buhay,” she added.
“Tadhana” started as a drama anthology championing OFWs and their plights as they work hard for their families left in the Philippines.
Now, the show has reformatted into a drama anthology showing dramatic yet inspiring stories from ordinary Filipinos.
Supervising producer Carlo Balaquiot says, “Sa loob ng anim na taon, nanatili pa rin ang mensaheng ipinapaabot ng ‘Tadhana’ – na sa huli, ang kabutihan ay nakatadhanang masuklian.
“Kaya naman pinapangako namin na mas marami pang mga kwentong malapit sa puso at kapupulutan ng aral ang ihahandog namin sa inyo.”
“Tadhana,” which has been championing Filipino’s triumphs over problems and adversities since 2017, continues to capture the hearts of viewers. Aside from high ratings, the show is one of the country’s most followed TV shows on Facebook.
“Tadhana” also earned a nod from the 2023 Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore for securing the title of National Winner for Best Single Drama/Telemovie/Anthology episode.
“Tadhana” anniversary offering
For the sixth anniversary offering of “Tadhana,” real-life couple and Sparkle artists Lexi Gonzales and Gil Cuerva are taking the lead together with veteran actresses Jackie Lou Blanco and Jean Garcia in an episode titled “Secrets.”
It tells the story of Senior High student Ayen (Lexi) and campus heartthrob Rave (Gil), who fall in love with each other. Unfortunately, things get complicated upon the entry of campus bully Olivia (Analyn Barro) and Rave’s childhood sweetheart Valerie (Ella Cristofani).
After some time, Ayen meets Claris (Jelai), a mysterious businesswoman who easily develops a good relationship with her and her mother, Stella (Jean). Stella and Ayen get to like Claris even more because she tries to protect Ayen from all the bullying she is experiencing at school. But in the end, the true intentions of Claris unfold.
The “Secrets” episode of “Tadhana” will air fo5 three Saturdays: November 4, 11, and 18, on GMA-7 and Pinoy Hits at 3:15 p.m.
