McDonald’s first teased the collaboration on August 7 through a Twitter video. It included clips from various movies and shows featuring references to the fast food giant. The teaser concluded with a shot from “Loki” season 2, hinting at further information to be unveiled on August 14.

Recent TikTok videos have shed more light on the collaboration, revealing that it involves a special sauce. The sauce packaging indicates it will play a role in the show itself. The label reads, “The sweet n’ sour sauce” and is noted to be “featured in Marvel Studios’ Loki.”

The chosen flavor is a fitting tribute to Loki, who evolved from a villain to a complex hero within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It has been revealed through set photos and the show’s official trailer that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) share a moment in a McDonald’s restaurant.
It is likely set in the 1970s judging by Sylvie’s attire. Yet, the reason behind Sylvie’s association with McDonald’s after her actions in the series remains a mystery.

“Loki” Season 2, featuring returning actors such as Owen Wilson, Eugene Cordero, Wunmi Mosaku, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, along with newcomer Ke Huy Quan, follows the character’s quest to restore the fractured Time Variance Authority.
Before anything else, he must first tackle the issue of time slipping caused by Sylvie’s actions, resulting in unexpected appearances across different places and eras.
The “Loki” season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 6, 2023.
