Miles: “Lahat naman ng tao nagkakamali”
Miles Ocampo has finally spoken up about her separation from ex-boyfriend Elijah Canlas, more than a month after the actor publicized their parting breakup on November 23, 2023.
The 26-year-old actress has graced an interview for Karen Davila’s YouTube vlog. Released on Thursday, January 11, 2024, Miles bares her sentiment and some of the reasons that led up to their split.

Miles shares, “May mga bagay na nangyari, Ms. Karen. Of course, sa isang relationship naman, it’s not just, di lang naman isang tao, parang you have to make it work, kayong dalawa.
“So siyempre, may mga pagkukulang at ano rin, yung isa’t isa. But I’m happy na naiwan lahat ng issues namin na yun sa 2023.
“And then, we started this year na okay kami—nag-uusap na ulit and all.
In more than two years of being together, Miles acknowledges that their relationship did not thread an easy path.
As she puts it, “May mga bagay na kaming dalawa lang ang makakaalam at makakasagot sa isa’t isa. So, might as well be friends for now.”
When Karen asked if Elijah is Miles’ true love, the actress quickly responds with, “Yes, Ms. Karen. First jowa. First boyfriend. First everything.”
Does Miles Ocampo consider dating now?
Miles gets reluctant when asked if she’s opening her doors for romantic chances. According to her, there’s just too many career opportunities coming her way, and she wants to focus more on them.
“Parang napakadaming magandang nangyayari ngayon. And may mga offers na mga work. Parang sabi ni Lord, ‘Anak, ito muna.’ So ito muna yung mga haharapin natin ngayong taon,” she says.

Miles has also revealed that her love for the actor remains, given that they’ve been through so much together.
She says, “May pinagsamahan kami, matagal din kami. And kapag ganun na marami kayong pinagdaanan together, marami kayong happy memories together, parang, I have so much love and respect for that person.”
Miles says that she has long forgiven Elijah for his shortcomings, as she shares how forgiveness must always take precedence.
After all, according to her, “Lahat naman ng tao nagkakamali. Parang dapat lang maging accountable yung mga tao sa mga nagawa nila.”
As for the chances of getting back together with Eljah, Miles leaves it all to destiny. As she puts it, “Tingnan natin ang universe, Ms. Karen, magsabi.”
It was in November 2023 when Elijah confirmed his separation with Miles in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
The reason behind their split was not disclosed, but just like Miles, Elijah assures, “I’m always gonna have love for her and I’m always gonna support her in whatever she does.”
