“Eat Bulaga!” hosts sing “It’s Showtime” theme song; Joey de Leon quips, “Tanggal na kayo!”
All it took was P10,000 for “Eat Bulaga!” hosts to sing the theme song of their rival noontime show, “It’s Showtime.”
In a recent episode of GMA-7’s “Eat Bulaga,” host Joey de Leon said he will give P10,000 to anyone who will sing the theme song of “It’s Showtime.”
Jose Manalo asked Joey: “Sampung libo? Kakantahin ko talaga ‘yan!“
Jose then led in the singing along with Allan K, Wally Bayola, and special guest Gabbi Garcia. They accepted Joey’s challenge and performed the intro of “It’s Showtime.” Audience members in the studio waved their hands in the air while singing along with the Dabarkads.
After they finished their song number, Joey joked that the hosts who performed the theme song of the ABS-CBN show were fired.
“Okay, wala. Tanggal na kayo,” Joey quipped.
It will be recalled that “Eat Bulaga!” producers have said that they want to implement “cost-cutting” measures which is why they have been pressuring some production staff to resign or retire.
Last March, Vice Ganda was ecstatic to learn that the hosts of “Eat Bulaga!” sent him birthday greetings. It was Joey who told his fellow Dabarkads: “Birthday din ni Vice Ganda ‘ata?”
Vice Ganda giddily told his co-hosts Ogie Alcasid, Karylle and Vhong Navarro: “I’m so happy! Binati nila ko ng ‘Happy Birthday’ sa ‘Eat Bulaga!’
“Thank you very much! Kay Tito Joey, Sir Joey de Leon, maraming maraming salamat. Binati nila ako dun. Ang saya.
“Mabuhay kayo, ‘Eat Bulaga!’ I love ‘Eat Bulaga!’ My God, nabati ako sa ‘Eat Bulaga!’ Masabi yung pangalan mo ng mga Dabarkads. I love it!” said the Kapamilya host.
