Sarah Geronimo gets noticed by South African singer Tyla following her own rendition of the TikTok hit song “Water” on “ASAP Natin ‘to.”
On Sunday, December 17, 2023, the “Popstar Royalty” sizzled the stage of the variety show with a performance of “Water” by South African singer Tyla.

With Sarah’s groovy performance, she easily trended on X (formerly Twitter) and gained the attention of Tyla who quote-retweeted the number.
Tyla writes, “It’s so crazy seeing people perform my song with huge productions, costumes, choreo etc. etc… what the heck.”

More so, one particular X account points out that Sarah’s status in the Philippines is highly comparable to the standing of international singing sensation Beyonce.
Sarah’s “Water” performance is under her own creative direction. As of writing, the retweeted video has already garnered 6.6 million views and more than 5,000 retweets.

Prior to this, Sarah was initially praised by netizens for giving a unique take on Paloma Faith’s “Only Love Can Hurt Like This” on December 3. The performance was rendered on the same stage.
Netizens urge Sarah Geronimo and Tyla to collaborate
With the massive attention that Sarah garnered, especially after Tyla’s comment, netizens could not help but demand a collaboration between the two singers.
“Water” debuted in July 2023 and immediately performed well on multiple Billboard charts, including Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/ Hip-Hop Airplay chart and U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
